The only thing that’s worked for me is to make accessing the phone as inconvenient as possible. Eventually my hope is to extinguish the Pavlovian response to pick it up each time it makes a sound or to quell the anxiety that inevitable arises when I have a quiet moment.

I have proven over and over to myself that being present makes me happier. I try to use deliberate metaphors like “drop the rope” or “drop the shovel” to turn my attention back to the present
