Really cool art!

It's amusing (and also kind of terrifying) that more Christians probably believe in Dante's version of hell than... well, there is literally no mention of hell in the bible, but you sort of need some kind of mechanism in place to get people to believe besides the carrot of heaven, don't you?

Right, that's such an important thing to mention - not even in the bible (Old Testament at least). It's fantasy fiction. I do love this Barry artist. Fear and hate is more motivating than any good for sure. (As noted in our elections...)

I think you can make a compelling argument that hell isn't really in the new testament either, but that's probably outside of the scope of today. And yes, fear and hate are unfortunately in the driver's seat at the present moment.

Always loved the idea of Lucifer being damned in the ice place.

He’s so beautiful and sympathetic in Paradise Lost as I recall. I do want to revisit that

Beautiful images. Interesting that Treachery is way down there, next to Lucifer, two levels past murder. And a reminder I need to finish watching the series Lucifer.

Also has me thinking a lot today about the historical fact that perhaps loyalty weighed way more heavily back then than it does now. I do not believe we would come up with the same list at all.

Oh I didn’t know there was a Lucifer series! And yes, so fascinating about murder being not so bad as that. What a task to define all this, come up with all the tortures and decide the levels…

It's funny and cheesy, but does look into free will and choices in a serious way at times.

I write about a fictional dog named Cerberus (but not that one).
