Submit your Newsletter to these directories
There are many lists online of newsletter directories and aggregators to submit your Substack to—on this shared quest to reach more readers—but I found many of these of lists very outdated, with many dead links.
Here’s my attempt at cleaning up these lists into one comprehensive one. I haven’t had results from many of these yet, so I’m not sure what is still actually active, but of many dozens I tried these are the ones that at least still have functional websites. I’ve had some small success with a few of these so far, with a trickle of new subscribers finding me, which definitely makes the minor effort worthwhile!
Generally, before you begin, have handy: your logo (often as an url), your URL*, a tagline, a short description, 4-5 main categories, and sometimes a banner image of certain specs and a link to a RSS feed**.
*To get a URL for your logo from Substack, right click on your logo and click “open image as a new tab.” Copy that URL)
**Your RSS feed is found by: https://yournewslettername.substack.com/feed (so in my case: https://sleepyhollowink.substack.com/feed—it doesn’t look pretty when I test it, but apparently it doesn’t matter.
Sometimes you have to dig around a bit on these websites to find the place to submit your newsletter.
