Oh dude. I just watched something the other night about how juggling can exercise your peripheral vision, and that can in turn help you grow more white matter in your brain. I was sort of taken aback by this.

Made me wonder how much jiu jitsu has made me smarter or given me a more broad perspective, and how much dumber I might be if I had never started martial arts. Really changes your perspective!

Your brain is a wonder! I should probably reread this after coffee and maybe some scented sleep, which sadly is always interrupted lol.

One of my favorite authors and series on implants. Douglas E. Richards

Mind's Eye (Nick Hall Book 1). Highly recommend.

A riveting sci-fi thriller from the NY Times bestselling author whose books have sold almost three million copies.

Hall soon discovers that advanced electronics have been implanted in his brain, and he now has two astonishing abilities--he can surf the web using thoughts alone, and he can read minds.

“It is what it is”. I actually like this phrase and interpret it differently. To me, to effectuate change you have to be able to see the situation clearly. It is not about acceptance or immutability because I never stop trying to achieve goals but rather not living in an unrealistic “hope” bubble. There is a good book called Hope is not a strategy. I have always agreed with that view.

Anyway interesting that we see it differently and now on to watch Lucy! I always look forward to my Saturday reads from you.

Of course, as Cory Doctorrow writes, it is just as likely that Musk, a serial liar, is, well, lying: https://pluralistic.net/2024/01/31/neural-interface-beta-tester/.

"I'm perfectly willing to believe that Musk would risk someone else's life to help him with this nonsense, because he doesn't see other people as real and deserving of compassion or empathy. But he's also profoundly lazy and is accustomed to a world that unquestioningly swallows his most outlandish pronouncements, so Occam's Razor dictates that the most likely explanation here is that he just made it up.

The odds that there's a human being beta-testing Musk's neural interface with the only brain they will ever have aren't zero. But I give it the same odds as the Raelians' claim to have cloned a human being..."

Much like a credulous political media covering the "sins" of both political parties as being equal (the anodyne headlines about the sham impeachment of the Head of DHS made my head explode all week), the gee-whiz reporting on tech "geniuses" every splurt is maddening and a real disservice.

Implanted chips in the brain - what could go wrong? BTW, this is, like, TOTALLY what happens in the classic 1956 sci-fi movie, Forbidden Planet. SPOILER ALERT: A scientist uses an alien technology that releases his mind/brain thingy, and of course, there's more there to be released there than he'd considered. It's great but a little slow for moderns to watch, but at the time the ideas and visuals would have been thrilling. It features Robbie the Robot. Go to any sci-fi convention and Robbie the Robot will be represented.

Ah, I really liked Lucy, but then again I'd watch Scarlett Johansson steam rice. Have i ever told you i have a synesthetic cross-wire in my brain thingy? And that the numbers 1-10 have distinct colors and gender orientation? It's muted, as in "seems normal," yet it's there. Certain numbers seem stronger (but so do people), but the number 2 is a strong one, very red, very potent femme, that I've compared to Madonna and Ms. Johansson (and yes, red is an aspect of theirs). 5 is blue like me. Hey, I dunno, it's just what I found there. Didn't seem odd at all, but then again I guess I assumed everyone's 6 was green and possibly gay. Also when I listen to jazz, especially live and I am concentrating, I'll often see points in space in the room in front of me hitting where the notes would fall on the staff. Is there anything I can do with this? Something that could bring in a little side money? I'm drawing blanks.

And thanks for the interrupting cow joke. I'd forgotten it existed. I really like that joke.

I want to thank you all so much for the support. My Husband has been responding really well to the therapy. I do have a question. My husband is taking CL 1 tab 3 times per day, along with the Ayurvedic therapy. Today he went to his neurologist and he said dad is showing major improvement his score went from 51 to 21!! The doctor increased his CL dosage from 1tab x 3 to 1.5 tabs x 3. He said it is "to capitalize on the improvement." This seems bazar that his dosage was increased with an improvement, also the neuro said that Ayurvedic has no side effects at this dosage. This Parkinson's diagnosis is very new, so I would love to hear your experience. Also my husband is taking Ayurvedic protocol from Naturalherbscentre. com 3 times per week. His hand tremor is completely gone. This isn’t some scam or some made up nonsense. he is also walking 2 miles per day. Thank you so so much!
