Really enjoyed this piece - thanks! My mother taught second grade for 35 years and probably within 10 years of the advent of the digital watch she said kids could not tell time anymore and now it's only worse --and she never had to deal with smartphones in the classroom. That skill got me thinking about lots of other practical things like how to build a camp fire, drive with a stick shift, change a tire, knit a scarf, and how many really useful things there are that don't coding or a screen. and cooking you bring up --that's one for all, because that's one thing we all do all the time....eat. And thanks for the Mary Oliver quote too.
Lol me too! Here’s to getting off (in all the ways?? Why not?!)
